UP CM Yogi slams claims on faecal bacteria in Sangam water, labels it as misinformation

In a passionate response to media reports alleging the presence of faecal bacteria in the Sangam waters, Yogi Adityanath labeled the claims as misinformation aimed at creating panic among the public. The Chief Minister dismissed the reports as unfounded and irresponsible, suggesting that the media was being misled by sources with ulterior motives. He pointed out that such claims lacked credible evidence, and the state government had been diligent in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the water during the Kumbh.

Yogi also took aim at the timing of the report, which surfaced during a critical period when millions of devotees were expected to take part in the holy bath. He stressed that misinformation of this nature could have significant consequences, especially for the health of the people attending the Mela. The Chief Minister reassured the public that the government was committed to maintaining the highest standards of water safety and public health. He also pointed to the state’s extensive testing of the water, with regular checks performed by scientific and environmental experts.

Yogi Adityanath’s response was unequivocal: “Sangam water is safe and pure, and these misleading reports are nothing but a part of a broader campaign to discredit the sacred event of the Kumbh Mela.”
