Karnataka’s D K Shivakumar Acknowledges the Slow Pace of Bengaluru’s Urbanization

In a candid acknowledgment, Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar admitted that Bengaluru’s development cannot be rushed, no matter how vast the resources or how much support the city may receive. His remarks came amid growing concerns over the city’s infrastructure deficiencies, which have become more evident as the city struggles to cope with a burgeoning population and increasing traffic.

Shivakumar noted that Bengaluru’s development was hindered not by a lack of effort or resources but by the scale of the challenges involved. He pointed out that the city’s infrastructure is outdated and cannot be revamped quickly, especially with the growing influx of people from other parts of the country seeking opportunities in the city.

Despite these challenges, the Deputy CM reassured the citizens that substantial progress is being made through long-term projects aimed at transforming Bengaluru into a more sustainable and livable city. These initiatives include the expansion of the metro system, road repairs, and other improvements designed to address transportation and public service needs.

Shivakumar also urged the residents to remain patient, understanding that sustainable growth and transformation require time, and that the fruits of the government’s efforts will be seen in due course.
