An avalanche in Uttarakhand’s Badrinath region has left over 40 BRO workers trapped under a thick layer of snow. Rescue operations are in full swing, with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) dispatching four teams to search for the missing workers. So far, 32 workers have been rescued, and teams continue their efforts to find others.
The avalanche occurred in a high-altitude area known for its treacherous weather. The BRO workers were caught off guard while working on road development projects. Given the large scale of the disaster, rescue teams are utilizing all available resources, including rescue dogs, helicopters, and ground teams.
The NDRF, with the help of the Indian Army and local police, has set up a base camp at the rescue site. The teams are facing challenges due to the freezing temperatures and unstable snow conditions. However, their determination to save lives remains unshaken.
Government officials have expressed their concern for the well-being of the workers and assured the families of the missing workers that every possible effort is being made to locate them. The authorities have also deployed additional equipment to speed up the rescue efforts.
