Telecom Service Providers likely to launch 5-G services during current financial year: Ashwini Vaishnaw informs in Lok Sabha
The Telecom Service Providers are likely to launch 5-G services during the current financial year, 2022-23, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed in the Lok Sabha. In a written reply, the minister said the department of telecommunications granted permission to Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited for conducting 5G technology trails with Center for Development of Telematics (C-Dot). The Minister further said the C-Dot has formulated a collaborative research policy and framework to build strong partnership with various stakeholders of indigenous 5G ecosystem with focus on local industry and start ups. The Minister also informed that the C-Dot has set up ‘India 5G Alliance’ which intends to deliver complete suit of 5G products.
In an another reply, the Minister informed that the Bharat Net has provided the Fiber to The Home connections to over 81 thousand 297 gram Panchayats in the country till June this year.
