The Ranveer Singh starrer 83 was released last week on Friday to an overwhelming response from the audience. Directed by the Kabir Khan the film which is based on India’s iconic 1983 World Cup win was expected to be one of the biggest money spinners of the year. Combining cricket and Bollywood the film has been one of the most keenly anticipated releases of recent times.

Collecting Rs. 47 cr the Ranveer Singh starrer 83 manages to become the 2nd highest opening weekend grosser of 2021. Though leading the list is the Akshay Kumar film Sooryavanshi that collected Rs. 77.08 cr, the business of 83 manages to out beat other releases like Antim – The Final Truth that collected Rs. 18.61 cr, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui that collected Rs. 14.53 cr, Tadap that collected Rs. 13.52 cr, Bellbottom that collected Rs. 12.75 cr, Roohi that collected Rs. 12.58 cr, Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 that collected Rs. 11.84 cr, Satyameva Jayate 2 that collected Rs. 9.76 cr, and Mumbai Saga that had collected Rs. 8.74 cr.
As of now, 83 is expected to see continued growth in business despite competition coming from the previous releases Spider-Man: No Way Home and Pushpa. However, trade predictions state that the business of 83 will remain stable.
