RBL Bank’s deposits fall 2.6% QoQ by end-December – Times of India

MUMBAI: RBL Bank said that its deposits as of end-December 2021 stood at Rs 73,637 crore, a 2.58% decline over its deposit base of Rs 75,588 crore at end of September 2021.
The bank said that it was releasing the deposit numbers ahead of its financial results for the quarter ended December 2021, which is subject to approval by the audit committee of the board of directors.
The share of retail deposits and deposits from small businesses declined 11.3% in three months from Rs 31,421 crore in September 2021 to Rs 27,871 crore in December 2021. As a result, the share of retail and small business deposits fell from 41.6% to 37.8% during the same period.
Deposits in the bank’s current and savings account (CASA) declined from Rs 26,734 crore in September 2021 to Rs 25,316 crore. The bank’s CASA deposit ratio fell by one percentage point to 34.4%.
Year on year total deposits were up 9.6% with CASA deposits recording a 21.3% year on year increase. According to data released by the Reserve Bank of India, overall bank deposits recorded a year on year increase of 9.6% as of December 17, 2021.
